Languages

An excellent mastery of the source language is imperative for translation. Equally important is competency in the target language as well. A good translation is characterized by the fact that it’s unrecognizable as a translation. Everyone has read difficult or even incomprehensible word-for-word translations. Not only grammar and spelling must be flawless in a well-readable and non-translation-sounding text. Correct idiomatics and appropriate style, as well as a contextual adaptation to the distinctiveness of the target culture, are indispensable in order for a translated text to read like the original. These language demands can only be met by a translator translating into his native language.

For this reason, I work according to the native speaker principle and offer the following language combinations:

French >German

Italian > German

English > German
